Consumer Credit Counseling Service is a non-profit NFCC member United Way Agency that offers free financial consumer credit counseling and credit education. Creditors are usually very cooperative with CCCS, waiving or reducing finance charges and late fees, reducing payments and/or bringing past due accounts current because our clients have sought out our professional guidance. All counseling is completely confidential and free.
Nevada JobConnect oversees and provides workforce development services to employers and job seekers of Nevada. For employers, Nevada JobConnect offers recruiting, retention, training and retraining, and outplacement services, as well as valuable information on labor law and labor market statistics. For job seekers, Nevada JobConnect offers career development information, job search resources, training programs, and, as appropriate, unemployment benefits. While targeted populations receive intensive assistance to overcome barriers to employment, all Nevadans can benefit from the services offered by Nevada JobConnect and our network of workforce partners.
Nevada JobConnect is part of a local/state network dedicated to developing the workforce of Nevada. The network is comprised of the statewide efforts of the Governor's Workforce Investment Board coupled with planning and service provision on a regional level by two local workforce boards. This network gives customers access to local workforce solutions and statewide services in a single location – Nevada JobConnect Career Centers.
Established in 1958, Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada is a private, non-profit, 501(c) (3) organization that ensures equal access to justice through free legal advice and representation for those who cannot afford to hire an attorney. Service areas include domestic violence, child abuse, consumer fraud and social security. Free classes are offered in bankruptcy, divorce, custody, small claims, guardianship and foreclosure mediation.
