Vegas PBS Recession Rx May 18, 2009

The May 18th episode of Recession Rx looks at a military family that’s facing illegal foreclosure and a man who is fighting the NV Division of Insurance over a complaint with his title company. This episode also features new job listings from Nevada JobConnect.

Congresswoman Dina Titus explained a new bill that aims to help clear up the confusion associated with mortgage relief and Lynn Baird, co-manager of NV Unemployment has a tip on the best time to contact the unemployment office.

Host Cathy Hanson interviewed Attorney Michael Joe about the Servicemember’s Civil Relief Act and Broker Scott Beaudry about the current real estate market.

The Daily Dose featured Spendster.org, a website that pokes fun at wasteful spending, but also educates people about it. Spendster’s parent organization is the National Endowment for Financial Education, which has valuable information in it's consumer section. 

The Daily Dose also featured Freecycle.org, a national classifieds website where you can donate or receive used belongings. And our last “dose” is Looks Too Good To Be True - a site that partners with the FBI to warn people of scams.
